High in the hills of the Staffordshire Moorlands, we are situated on the edge of Flash, highest village in England, yet just a few 100 yards off the A53 we are easily accessible.
Needless to say we have superb views of the surrounding countryside and the walking, cycling and riding from the farm is excellent. We also work closely with English Nature and have one of the few colonies of Lapwings in the area, it is fascinating to watch and listen to these ground nesting birds whirling around with their distinctive ‘peewit’ call.
Riding is of course available to guests but please do not feel compelled to ride just come and enjoy the scenery!
An ideal base from which to explore the Peaks, Potteries and Plains of Cheshire and only 16 miles from Alton Towers.
We are lucky that we still have a village pub which is always welcoming for a refreshing pint or G&T whatever your tipple. They don’t serve food but we do have many fine gastro pubs within a few miles, the closest being the Travellers Rest (now know as The Knights Table) which is just 3/4 from the village at Flash Bar.
The local shop and café at Flash Bar provides all the essentials as well as delicious home made cakes and local produce.
Our four properties of varying sizes sleep a total of 18 plus 2 bed settees, giving great flexibility for groups of families and friends to meet up for short or long breaks.
The recreation/party room can also be used as a large dining area with a banquet table to seat 16+, adjacent is a fully equipped kitchen. These facilities are ideal for larger groups and family ‘get-togethers’ and can be accessed internally from the three larger properties.
Most of the double rooms have ‘zip-link’ beds that can either be two singles or a super king-size double, all bedrooms are either en-suite or have a separate bathroom.
Prices include bed linen, electricity and heating (all accommodation is centrally heated). Personal towels are not provided but can be made available at a small extra charge.
Facilities include TV and DVD player, reasonable use of free Wi Fi, all kitchens are fully equipped with fridge, four ring cookers and microwaves, with dish-washers in the three larger properties, we are all electric.
A washing machine and drying room is available for guests. Cots and high chairs are available on request. Parking is adjacent to the accommodation.
Weekly lets usually commence on a Friday. Arrival time is from 3.30pm, departure is by 10am. Other days/times and short/long lets by arrangement.
Deposit required; Old Stables & Hayloft £60. Apartment £40. Cheques payable to ‘Northfield Farm’ or by bank transfer. We no longer take card payments.
